What Are You Looking At?

Many people ask whether this is a modified version of older status pages. It is not. What you are looking at is a completely original design, written from the ground up in modern PHP, HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript.

This system does not use legacy code, patched templates, or repurposed scripts. Every part of the interface — the layout, the menus, the data feed, the backend logic, and the mobile‑friendly design — was built from scratch to solve problems that older pages could not.

The goal was simple: create a cleaner, faster, more reliable status system that works on phones, tablets, desktops, and can even be installed as a Progressive Web App with its own icon. The interface may feel familiar, but the internal code is entirely new, modern, and optimized.

Why This System Exists

Older status pages opened a new controller connection for every viewer, which caused unnecessary load and instability. This system uses a single backend process and a database‑driven feed to eliminate those issues. It is designed to be efficient, scalable, and self‑healing under load.

The menu system is stored in a simple CSV file for easy editing. All color themes are handled in CSS. JavaScript is cached by the browser for faster loading. The JSON feed has been rewritten to remove unused or sensitive fields and provide only the data needed for the display.

Availability

At this time, the software is not being released for public download. However, I do build hubs for people on request using this system. If you need a hub that is fast, stable, secure, and customizable, I can build one for you.

This platform was originally created for GMRS, and later expanded after I earned my ham license (KJ5MZL). It now supports ASL3 and AllStar systems with modern, efficient code that avoids the limitations of older designs.

One major advantage is that a hub built with this system can run both the controller and the website on the same machine, reducing hosting costs while maintaining full HTTPS security.
